Oy: Part Two

Decide I want to go on a bikeride, but the front tire on my bike is low about 20 psi. I go to fill the tire, and pump too hard, breaking the seal on my air pump, only allowing it to be filled to about 75 psi now.

This afternoon sucks. 

I feel self-conscious.

I feel like a child’s play thing, being strewn about.

I feel like loving. 

I feel like drinking.

I feel like exercising.

I feel.

What the heck.

Well it is 5:00pm somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

I need to start getting into shape.

So there is no time like the present. It may be best to get in shape now, instead of trying to motivate myself once I do have a job drop and know the date i’m heading to BMT.

Come to think of it. I’ll be spending almost 3 months in the exact middle of Texas. What is there in San Antonio? It’s large, it has to be interesting, right?  I shouldn’t even be asking that, I should be focusing on what i’ll be doing there.

I almost forgot.

I could have something to do, entertainment wise, this week.

It all starts with when I was at MEPS.

There was quite an overwhelming male/female ratio to begin with, among the applicants. There were a few dozen boys, a couple men. Women though, there were just over a half dozen.

There was a beautiful blonde girl, Christa, who always seemed to be frowning, though not always sad. This did make it even more entrancing when she smiled. She was my age, and an applicant for the U.S. Navy. She wore a cute jumper, and floral skirt over a Black and gold Legend of Zelda t-shirt. Under that t-shirt though, she had a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess heart container tattoo on her chest. She was quite an interesting girl. In another time and another place… She had told me “You look like somebody who would score really well on the ASVAB.” I did.

There we’re a few women in their mid twenties, one pale blonde who looked very Army, and her friend in the J-Crew navy anchor shorts. Besides these two were a few younger girls who seemed rather immature. I didn’t interact with them at all.

The next girl of note was a tiny, 100lbs. to be precise (4lbs. underweight for her height), seventeen your old girl attempting to enlist in the U.S. Navy. She was a junior jumper- meaning her father was a long time member of the Navy and she lived with him throughout her youth. She was cute, I guess, in a ‘looks 14 sort of way’ (ew). All of the young boys were trying to chat her up left and right. It was humorous to watch their efforts. I paid no mind to this girl, nor any of them, any of them at all; however, while walking through the lobby (after having blood drawn, and then doing 110+lbs. clean and press, tearing open the puncture wound because my shirt cuff got stuck on it) She asked me if I was still sore, addressing my arm. She then proceeded to continue talking to me through the rest of the day, this was all her effort. It turns out she lives about 10 minutes away from me, and raises crocodiles. Who does that? She wanted me to go with her to Senior week in Ocean City this week. She, and her friends, have a hotel room for the week; she wanted me to skip work on Monday, and then spend the afternoons partying with them. What kind of 22 year old, in his right mind, would spend the week drinking with a 17 year old girl at the beach. Much more was insinuated. An entirely illegal week. No thank you. She told me that I would need to dress down… t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, and I would need to rough up my hair. Hah. Angelina Williamson: 17 years old, 100lbs, Cheerleader, U.S.Navy, lives in Mardela MD, raises crocodiles- Good bye.

Needless to say, I won’t be going to Ocean City this week. Oh well.

Why can’t someone my own age, or at least not that young, have interest in me. Something straight forward, something verbal. I don’t want to be toyed with, I don’t want to be an extra in the background, ignored until one’s eyes focus randomly. I’m partial to reality, that concept has led to a lot of controversy with girls in my past, and it looks like it won’t stop. I don’t feel real any more.

Well if that wasn’t a strange MEPS tale. I left plenty out, and probably forgot to mention some people.

Also, the Woman at the front desk called me Clark Kent… I cannot escape.
